7 THOUGHT PROVOKING QUOTES FROM "AS A MAN THINKETH" BY JAMES ALLEN

7 THOUGTH PROVOKING QUOTES FROM “AS A MAN THINKETH” BY JAMES ALLEN

By Godfrey Ifeanyi

Quotes are like accelerators, they quicken the motion of our thoughts and stretches our minds beyond our present thoughts and dispositions. They convey deep thoughts into our shallow minds and help us reach the heights of wisdom and disrupts our mental status quo.

If you haven’t been reaching out to quotes daily, then you haven’t really allowed your mind to explore the vastness and immensity of its adventurous nature.

Recently I just concluded an amazing book by James Allen – “AS A MAN THINKETH’’

Trust me, while reading I had you in mind, so I carefully selected the most important and exciting quotes for your consumption.

Here they are:

1.       He who would accomplish little need to sacrifice little, he who would achieve much must sacrifice much, he who would attain highly must sacrifice greatly.

2.       Your sufferings and happiness are evolved from within. As a man thinks so is he, as he continues to think so he remains.

3.       Until thoughts is linked to purpose there is no intelligent accomplishment.

4.       There is no physician like cheerful thoughts for dissipating the ills of the body, there is no comforter to compare with goodwill for dispersing the shadows of grief and sorrow.

5.       Thoughts are the fount for actions, life and manifestation; make the fountain pure and all will be pure.

6.       The body is the servant of the mind, it obeys the operation of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed.

7.       A man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts and so indirectly shape his circumstances.

  1. You know, my eyes lit up when I saw the title of this one.
I got hold of that book two years ago and when I read it, it struck a chord within me. And though it's been a while, it felt good you know, when "a reminder(the post)" of it came by and somehow has pushed me to revisit it and utilize the nuggets in it.
I think we should do more of this. You know, more of decoding, demystifying and unleash the treasures in it(the book).
And we might just have a section dedicated to "as a man thinketh" (improving it - the way man thinks and all those sorts), what do you think?
